Not every journey in college basketball follows a straight line. For Jaxson Robinson, his path wound through multiple programs before he found his home in Lexington. And though his season ended earlier than he wanted due to a wrist injury, his impact on Kentucky basketball was undeniable.
As he bid farewell to Big Blue Nation, his message was simple but powerful:
“Damn, what a ride… BBN THANK YOU! 😢”
From BYU to Kentucky, from sixth man to difference-maker, Robinson’s journey was more than just about basketball—it was life-changing.
Taking a Chance, Making It Count
Robinson followed Mark Pope to Kentucky, and it was a decision that shaped his career. Reflecting on his time in Lexington, he didn’t hesitate to credit the man who believed in him:
“He took a chance on me. Being here, in this locker room, around these guys. To have this jersey on and be able to say I played for the University of Kentucky, I can't thank anybody else but Mark Pope.”
It was a new role, a new team, and a new challenge. And he embraced it.
A Season Cut Short but a Legacy Secured
Robinson was having an impressive season before his wrist injury finally became too much to play through. Even as he sat on the bench in street clothes, he never stopped being a teammate, always rooting for Kentucky until the very end.
His numbers showed his value:
2024-25 Season: 13.0 PPG, 43.2% FG, 37.6% 3PT, 76.3% FT
Career: A consistent scorer and perimeter threat, improving every season
His impact went beyond the stat sheet. He was a guy who came in and did it for the team.
A Wildcat, Forever
Robinson’s time at Kentucky wasn’t just about making shots—it was about making memories. He played with passion, fought through adversity, and made the most of his opportunity in blue and white.
Though his season ended too soon, his journey at Kentucky will be remembered. No matter where he goes next, he’ll always be part of the Big Blue family.
