Kentucky football continues to serve up big time recruiting news. Will Stein is not messing around in his first offseason being a head coach. This time another elite QB prospect has decided to include Kentucky in his top 5. If you needed even more reasons to believe Stein has really upped the programs recruiting profile, you got another reason now.

2027 QB Israel Abrams lists Kentucky in final 5

Currently, Abrams is the 2nd best qb in the class of 2027, can't really get much better than that. The only QB ahead of him, Elijah Haven, is also feeling the love from Kentucky. The Cats have a plan to try to poach him as well.

When was the last time the top two quarterbacks in a class decided that Kentucky was a legitimate destination? I can't remember it ever really happening, but Will Stein and company have done it in year 1 of their reign.

Along with Kentucky, Abrams lists Miami (FL), Auburn, Florida State, and Purdue as his other finalists.

Abrams was recently scouted by 247, and they walked away even more impressed than they were previously. Andrew Irvins, said, "Elastic signal-caller that can rip the ball around the yard. Finds easy exit velocity with a rapid release, but can also throw with touch and anticipation." He helped lead his team to 2 straight state titles, built on his arm. Irvins continued, "Accurate on the move and will find launching points – both on and off-platform. Displays the ability to come off his first read and work through his progressions."

Will Stein loves quarterbacks that are accurate and smart, and it sounds like Abrams fits both.

The battle is far from over, and Kentucky is still seen as an outside candidate, but its okay to celebrate the come up that Stein has brought to the sports most important position.

Now getting them signed is another story, but if Kenny Minchey really is "that dude" as a former teammate claims, Kentucky football will have a much easier time of signing the top young quarterbacks.
