The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off their bye week looking to have a more healthy and full roster. Did that extra week of rest help a couple of the stars recover from what has kept them out of games, specifically Maxwell Hairston and Chip Trayanum?

The quick answer is that neither will be available for this game. Both are listed as OUT before we even get to the day of the game, which means they need at least one more week of recovery. Hairston missed the last game and will now miss his second game. Trayanum hasn't played at all this season and has never been able to suit up as a Kentucky Wildcat.

In Head Coach Mark Stoops' press conference this week he was able to provide a little clarity to the Trayanum situation. The star running back was cleared by the medical staff, but as he began to practice again, Stoops said, "he had a setback." What this exactly means isn't clear. The main thing we know is that, once again, he isn't available for the game against Vanderbilt, and the other running backs that have carried the rock this season will continue to do so. Demie Sumo-Karngbaye has been the primary back this season, with Jamarion Wilcox also showing a lot of production as a freshman.

The rest of the early injury report features three other players listed as "out": Darrion Henry-Young, Tavion Gadson, and Josaih Hayes. Terhyon Nichols is listed as doubtful. Stoops did not list anyone as questionable, and like normal, he has a handful of players listed as "probable." This mostly means he's giving them extra rest, but they are not at risk of missing the game.

Vanderbilt upset Alabama in a very physical game, yet they came out in fairly healthy shape and ready to take on the Wildcats. As you can see, they only list a few as out and a handful as questionable.

The game is Saturday, October 12, at 7:45 pm EST at Kroger Field in Lexington, Kentucky. It will be aired on SEC Network and ESPN+.
