Tyran Stokes’s recruitment has been anything but straightforward. The No. 1 player in the 2026 class once looked like a lock to join Bill Self at Kansas, but recently, after signing an NIL partnership with Nike, Kentucky and even Oregon have reentered the race.Â
Now, the day is finally here as Stokes is set to commit on Tuesday night at 6:30 ET. As has been the case throughout much of the process, Stokes ultimately appears to be deciding between Kansas and Kentucky, so BBN will be waiting with bated breath, hoping Mark Pope can land the program’s first No. 1 overall recruit since Nerlens Noel in 2012.Â
A lot is riding on this commitment for Pope and Kentucky, so luckily, BBN will have easy access to watch Stokes make his final decision on Tuesday night. Here’s how to tune in.Â
How to watch Tyran Stokes’s commitment on Inside the NBA
Initial reports stated that Stokes’ announcement would come at 3:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday afternoon, but that has since been clarified to 6:30 p.m. ET on Inside the NBA with Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith. You can watch the announcement on ESPN.Â
The announcement will occur live on ESPN, so those with cable and streaming services will be able to tune in to ESPN at 6:30 ET. Fans with an ESPN account should also be able to access the announcement in the app. If you don’t have an ESPN account, cable, or a streaming service, you can watch using a FuboTV seven-day free trial.Â
Mark Pope has struggled on the recruiting trail. Last year, he went all-in on the transfer portal, spending $22 million to construct a roster that earned a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament and hardly advanced beyond the first round before bowing out to Iowa State in embarrassing fashion.Â
The pressure was already on Pope to get this roster build right from BBN, but the reported explanation for Stokes’s delayed decision was that he wanted to see how both rosters began to take shape in the portal. So, that’s an additional layer of pressure for Pope to contend with. If he misses out on Stokes, there isn’t a viable replacement in the Transfer Portal to pivot to.Â
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound playmaking small forward will likely be a preseason All-American next season before his one-and-done campaign. So, of course, Kentucky’s roster projection looks much better with him than without.
