The Kentucky Wildcats and the Louisville Cardinals meet for their rivalry game at an inopportune time for both programs. Each team is struggling with injuries and not at full strength. Both teams will be down key pieces. Louisville is dealing with the injuries of Kasean Pryor and Koren Johnson. Kentucky was down both of their point guards for their game against Colgate: Lamont Butler and Kerr Kriisa. While Kriisa will be out for a few weeks, Butler should return for this game.

Louisville is 6-4 in the year, with big wins over Indiana and West Virginia. They had lost four straight games heading into their most recent game against UTEP. They were able to beat UTEP with a final score of 77-74. They have played high-level competition this year and won't shy away from Kentucky. While they have four losses they have come at the hands of Tennessee, Duke, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma. Three of those teams are ranked, and one is a handful.

Kentucky is now 9-1 and 7-0 at home. Their only loss was against Clemson in a true road game. This game will be one that each team will want to win, and it is projected to be a battle. Kentucky will be looking to establish energy early as they were flat almost the whole game against Colgate.
