Kentucky football wrapped up its Spring Showcase without much fanfare — no tackling, limited live-action, and a handful of injuries that kept several key players sidelined. But while fans didn’t get a full look at the 2025 Wildcats, the coaching staff did.

And now, the transfer portal clock is ticking.

The spring window for college football transfers opens April 16 and runs through April 25, and with 86 scholarship players currently on the roster — one over the SEC’s limit of 85 — at least one departure is imminent. But there could be more.

Here are four players most likely to explore their options elsewhere this spring.

1. Jamarion Wilcox – Running Back

Wilcox is one of Kentucky’s most dynamic athletes, but after the spring showcase, he appears to be third on the depth chart behind Nebraska transfer Dante Dowdell and rising star Jason Patterson who Stoops said is becoming an every down back.

Stoops loves to run the ball, but with limited touches and the portal wide open, Wilcox could seek a fresh start somewhere he can be a feature back. His talent is clear — and he won't lack suitors.

2. Josh Kattus – Tight End

Kattus has the physical tools to be an SEC-caliber tight end, but he’s never quite broken through in Lexington. His younger brother, once a UK commit, chose Clemson — a program with a more pass-friendly offense.

If Kattus is looking to showcase his receiving skills and get more targets, transferring to a system that throws more could be the move.

3. Cam Dooley – Cornerback

A former four-star prospect, Dooley struggled to find a consistent role last season and burned his redshirt in the process. With Kentucky bringing in transfer help and competition stiff in the secondary, Dooley may decide a reset is best.

He still has upside and eligibility, which makes him a valuable target for programs looking to add DB depth.

4. Cutter Boley – Quarterback

This would be a shocker, but it’s not off the table.Cutter Boley, the in-state quarterback once heralded as Kentucky’s QB of the future, is now in a crowded room. The coaching staff brought in Zach Calzada, a more mobile quarterback who fits offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan’s dual-threat preference.

With Liam Coen gone to the NFL, Boley's pocket-passing style might be a better fit elsewhere — especially if he wants to play sooner rather than later.

Coach Mark Stoops put it best:

“This isn’t the end... We’ve got to make sure we don’t lose any of the gains that we made.”

That goes for both the team — and the roster.
