After confirming he has no intention of stepping down at the season’s end and saying there's a "zero percent chance" of that happening, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops took the night off and opted to have assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow host his weekly radio show.

Stoops provided no official reason for his absence, but Marrow took the opportunity to share some eye-raising insights, particularly on the progress of true freshman quarterback Cutter Boley. Boley, a highly-touted recruit from Lexington Christian Academy, has generated excitement among Kentucky fans eager to see him develop into the Quarterback that has long eluded Mark Stoops and Kentucky.

During the show, Marrow highlighted Boley’s impressive arm strength and natural talent, saying he had watched the freshman in practice and was continually wowed by his arm talent.

The praise for Boley was high across recruiting circles, too: Boley was ranked as high as No. 12 nationally by Rivals and finished as a four-star composite recruit, according to 247Sports. Choosing Kentucky over offers from powerhouse programs like Alabama and Auburn, Boley’s commitment signified a win for Stoops and Marrow in keeping top local talent at home.

Marrow even compared Boley’s potential to that of Tim Couch, the legendary UK quarterback who set several school records and was the Cleveland Browns' No. 1 overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft.

Couch, a Kentucky native himself, left a lasting legacy at Kentucky, where he helped popularize the air raid offense under then-coach Hal Mumme. Marrow’s comparison of Boley to Couch is definitely bold, but one that speaks volumes to UK fans longing for a return to a high-powered offense led by an elite quarterback, something not seen since Andre Woodson when Stevie got loose.
