Big Blue Madness isn’t just a party, it’s a chance for Kentucky to make a statement.

This weekend, Mark Pope’s first Big Blue Madness as Kentucky’s head coach promises fireworks, both on the court and the recruiting trail. The Wildcats will welcome a trio of elite visitors: Josh Irving, Caleb Holt, and Jordan Smith Jr., three players ranked among the nation’s best.

Meet the elite visitors

Four-star center Josh Irving, a top-four prospect at his position from Pasadena, California (0.9810 composite), is a primary target. The 6-foot-10 big man is known for his soft hands and rim-running ability, drawing comparisons to former Wildcat Oscar Tshiebwe. He’s also considering USC, Texas A&M, Louisville, and Kansas. Kentucky will look to really make a big push this weekend.

Caleb Holt, the No. 3 overall player in the 2026 class and the top-ranked shooting guard, is one of the most coveted prospects in America. The Alabama native (0.9986 composite) is a lethal scorer who thrives in transition. Alabama currently leads for his commitment, but Kentucky is firmly in the conversation. Can Big Blue Madness sway Holt to leave his home state school for Lexington?

Then there’s Jordan Smith Jr., the No. 2 overall player in the class and the top-ranked combo guard (0.9992 composite). The Virginia standout is being pursued by Arkansas, Duke, and Georgetown, but Pope hopes the energy of Rupp Arena can make a lasting impression. Kentucky is not in the top 3 right now, but they are in the mix in the second tier for now.

Pope and his staff have built Big Blue Madness into more than just a showcase, it’s an experience designed to remind elite recruits what makes Kentucky basketball different. Expect a packed house, roaring fans, and plenty of surprises that could shift recruiting momentum in Pope’s favor.
