The Kentucky Wildcats are now the fourth-best team in the nation as voted on by AP voters. They were fifth last week, and with no one ahead of them losing, the thought was that they would remain at fifth. That wasn't the case, they jumped the Duke Blue Devils who only played one game last week against Incarnate Word. While they won that game, they were punished for it. Or could it be that the AP voters were fixing a mistake they made last week in the rankings?

Last week, Kentucky moved up to fifth, but people quickly found a flaw in the rankings. Duke was fourth. Jokes were being passed around the internet with a similar line, "If there was only someway we could tell who was better between these two teams, maybe a game on a neutral floor?" Which is exactly what happened a few weeks ago when Kentucky beat Duke 77-72.

We dug into that disrespect last week with this article. There was a lot of head-scratching from Kentucky fans and even many national analysts that cover the sport. How did Duke jump Kentucky when Kentucky beat them? Some thought that maybe Kentucky was being penalized for their loss to Clemson, but the error in that logic was that Duke has two total losses, and it's not like Clemson is a bad team. It was a Quad-1 loss, which is a very respectable loss.

The wrong has been righted after Duke played a non-name school, and Kentucky was able to win two games with a win over their rival in Louisville. However, now the concern is that Kentucky only has two games between now and the end of 2024. Will they get the same treatment and get jumped simply because they don't have many games? Duke will have three games in that span and even the start of their ACC schedule. I guess we will see.
