Kentucjy starts off hot at memorial 21-3, and looks to end Wofford's dream or an upset early. The Cats defense swarms Wofford and ease out to a comfortable margin.

At halftime, the Kentucky Wildcats women’s team holds a commanding 34-11 lead over the Terriers of Wofford.

Thee defense has been the defining story of the first half, holding the opposing team to just 11 points (wow) and 4 made field goals.

While Kentucky’s offensive output dipped toward the end of the second quarter, as they went the final four minutes without scoring a single point, the defense never wavered.

The Wildcats have controlled the boards with 31 rebounds and spread the offense across key players, led by Dazia Lawrence, who’s been hot with 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting, including a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc in the first half.

Despite the late offensive lull, Kentucky’s lead looks really secure heading into the second half.

The Wildcats will aim to shake off the scoring drought and maintain their early intensity on both ends of the floor. Teonni Key has been particularly active on the glass with 9 rebounds, With such a comfortable lead, Kentucky can focus on staying sharp, rotating their lineup, and preparing for the inevitable challenges they’ll face later in the season in the SEC.

Wofford got their shot to go a little better in the third, tallying 3 more points than in the whole first half 14 to 11. The Cats meanwhile cooled off from 3 land, but scored 20 points in the quarter. Taking a 54-25 lead to the fourth.

Eventually the Cats pulled away and won easily. If you are a Cats fan you'd love to see them hit the jumper with a little more consistency though.

Tough to complain when you win 76-42, but these are the games where things need to be cleaned up.
