4. Marquis Teague (2011-12)

Teague’s NBA career isn’t even close to Fox’s, but his college career was one for the books.

Teague was the starting point guard for the 2011-12 Kentucky basketball team that would go 38-2 and win the National Championship.

While Anthony Davis was the main reason for the championship, you can’t understate Teague’s importance. He averaged 10.0 points per game and led the team with 4.8 assists per game.

Teague shot fairly average from the field and wasn’t a notable defender but as a freshman playing alongside a team made up of mostly other freshmen and sophomores, Teague knew his role and played it perfectly.

Anthony Davis will make other players better, but for Teague to accept his role as the point guard and play it out perfectly for 40 games, you have to give him a lot of credit. Not everyone is built for that pressure, and plenty of the so-called better Kentucky basketball point guards failed to do what Teague did – win the NCAA Tournament.
