One of a few one-and-done players on this list, DeAaron Fox shared the backcourt duties with Isaiah Briscoe, but Fox was the primary point guard on the team.

As were most of the players on this list, Fox was heavily recruited out of high school and chose to play at Kentucky. He made an impact right away, leading the team with 4.6 assists per game and finishing second behind Malik Monk with 16.7 points per game.

Fox was more than just a scoring point guard. His defense was notable, averaging 1.5 steals per game. Versatility and athleticism were also strengths, and have continued to his pro career, where Fox is one of the top dunkers for his position.

Fox’s talent at UK was evident because he was drafted as the 5th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. On a team with Bam Adebayo and Malik Monk, Fox was seen as the best prospect, and he’s made the Sacramento Kings front office look pretty smart.

Not many programs have had any point guards as good as DeAaron Fox since 2009, but that’s just how great of a recruiter John Calipari is.
