Kentucky March Madness schedule: When do the Wildcats play next? (Updated Round of 64)
By Josh Hill
The Kentucky Wildcats are dancing in March, which is nothing new but this year fans are hoping things turn out a little differently than last season.
When talking about Kentucky Wildcats basketball, perfection is the expectation.
Specifically, when the Wildcats are playing in March it’s championship or bust. During John Calipari’s tenure as head coach, Kentucky has been a mainstay in March Madness but despite their constant presence haven’t been to the top of the mountain in a while.
This year marks the 11th season under Calipari that the Wildcats have punched a ticket to the Big Dance but it’s been since 2015 that the team has danced all the way to the Final Four. For all the hate Kentucky gets for being a Blue Blood, it’s been over a decade since the school’s last national championship — something that fans are hoping changes this year.
Here’s when and where to watch the Kentucky Wildcats in the NCAA Tournament.
March Madness schedule: When do Kentucky Wildcats play next?
Last year was a bitter one for the Wildcats, as they were on the wrong side of a historic upset that gave birth to the cinderella team of the tournament. This year Kentucky has another tough Round of 64 matchup with a potential underdog looking to cause trouble.
Kentucky was bounced by Saint Peter’s last year in an embarrassing upset by a No. 15 seed. Chances are a little higher that the Wildcats make it to the weekend, but they’ll have to get through Providence to do so.
Easier said than done.
- Matchup: Kentucky vs. Providence
- Date: Friday, March 17th
- Start Time: TBD
- TV Channel: TBD
- Announcers: TBD
Perhaps this is nothing, but in March you read between all of the lines and into every potential advantage. Last year’s upset loss to the Peacocks was a Thursday game, whereas the Wildcats have a Friday game this time around.
That just means fans have all week to both stress themselves out and hype each other up as another quest for a national title begins.
