2.) Find more ways to involve and play through Cason Wallace

If Coach Cal and the Cats can count on anything, it is that the upcoming opposition will be keying on Oscar Tshiebwe defensively, as he has looked, at times, like Kentucky’s sole offensive production.  If Kentucky is going to be successful moving forward the team is going to have to find some meaningful offensive production through other players.  If Fredrick cannot get the job done shooting the ball, then it seems the next logical choice is Cason Wallace.

If you tuned into the Michigan State or Gonzaga game, then Wallace surely grabbed your attention as he recorded 8 steals against the Spartans and 4 against the Bulldogs.  The young freshman from Texas’s game doesn’t stop defensively though, as he has shown aggressive play, an ability to finish around the rim, and glimpses of a nice jump shot over several occasions on the year.

Wallace has put up double digits in the points column in 4 of his 5 outings with the Cats, finishing with 8 in his second game, just missing the mark.  Cason Wallace has also finished his 5-game span, shooting an overall 58% from the field and also shooting over 50% from 3-point range.  One negative for the freshman newcomer in blue resides in Wallace’s tendency to turn the ball over, as he has recorded at least 2 in each of his games thus far.

However, it still seems that the Kentucky Offense is missing meaningful production from some of its other members.  That job doesn’t need to remain vacant very long if Cal’s Cats plan on going on another deep run.  All Wallace needs to do is protect the basketball and continue to finish with his explosive and talented play.
