There’s only one college basketball program that is willing to go head to head with Sunday Night Football, and that is our Kentucky Wildcats. The Wildcats have a massive test in front of them Sunday night when they take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

The Cats and the Bulldogs have both already suffered a loss this season, and both will be looking for redemption on the national stage. Just who are the Gonzaga Bulldogs? Here’s what you need to know about the enemy.

Head Coach Mark Few

Gonzaga head coach Mark Few is in his 23rd season as the head man of the Bulldogs. Few has turned his program from a March Madness Cinderella darling to the powerhouse you hope your team avoids in the big dance.

The Bulldogs have become a yearly title contender, and that is solely on the shoulders of coach Few. Few’s list of accolades are longer than a receipt from CVS. One of the only things missing from that list is a win over Kentucky.

Old Man Timme

Gonzaga’s Drew Timme is entering his 100th year in college. It’s probably not a hundred years, but it sure feels like he was in school with Perry Ellis in the 1800s. Just like his coach, Timme’s list of accolades expands across his many years in the program, including being last season’s  CBS Preseason National Player of the Year.

The keyword there would be preseason. Oscar Tshiebwe would be the man standing in front of Timme winning any National Player of the Year awards last season, as Tshiebwe swept the award season. Timme vs. Tshiebwe is a match made in heaven for any hoops fan.

The long-awaited matchup is finally here. Folks who have been saying that John Calipari was ducking the Zags will now pray the Bulldogs can give the Wildcats a beating. In the words of coach Cal, “Enough talk. Let’s ball.” *Drops mic.
