3. Protect the football and avoid the dreaded turnovers

This is always a top priority of any game, no matter the opponent. When playing an offense like Tennessee it is even more important to play a clean game. Turning the ball over and giving the Vols short fields is a recipe for disaster. Kentucky ranks outside the top 80 in turnovers lost with twelve, including six interceptions.

The Vols rank top 30 in takeaways which is why this is a major key in the matchup. Will Levis has been prone to be a little erratic with his decision-making at times. In a big game like this, it will be easy for skill position players to try and do too much, which could lead to turnovers. Being disciplined and fundamentally sound will increase the chances of Kentucky being able to win this game. It all starts with taking care of the football.
