If this is for the SEC Title is this Kentucky’s year to become King of the East
Venue: Kroger Field
City: Lexington, KY
Overall Matchup Record: Georgia leads the series 61-12-2
Last meeting: Georgia won 30-13 last year
For all the talk about Kentucky football and the what-ifs on the year, it all comes down to this Saturday in November in what surely would be a game under the lights and ESPN Game Day on hand in Lexington.
We are free to say it can be so all the way until Kentucky loses more than a single game in the SEC and if that is the case what an atmosphere it will be as all eyes across the college football world will be in and on Lexington.
Nothing would be more exciting for this team and all the hard work, sweat, and genuine effort and caring that Stoops has put into building the Kentucky program than to see it culminate here on his home turf with the Big Blue faithful ready for that signature moment.
Georgia only returns three starters on defense but that means very little especially this late in the season. Kentucky would have to play mistake-free, create turnovers and control the clock for all 60 minutes.
Would that still be enough – who knows?
The gap has closed from Georgia sitting at the top of the SEC East throne, and this is Kentucky’s best chance. Unfortunately, the realist in me says the Bulldogs escape 27-20.
