Vanderbilt where weird games happen but UK needs to lay the hammer down

Venue: Kroger Field
City: Lexington, KY

Overall Matchup Record: Kentucky leads the series 48-42
Last meeting: Kentucky won 34-17 last year

Kentucky and Vanderbilt on a nice November 5 day that no one will really care other than the fact Kentucky will be either 8-2 or 9-1 most likely at the conclusion of this contest, other than the fact that they definitely can be in the mix for the SEC title and Georgia looming the next week.

Sometimes you need luck in these games because as long as I can remember they can be really ugly, close, and bizarre to the end. No offense to Matt Ruffolo, but hopefully we don’t need any late-game heroics from you here.

Kentucky needs everyone healthy for Georgia the following week so it would be nice to not wear down players in this game and get lots of players’ time on the field. Kentucky has won the last six games and seven of nine under Stoops and there is no reason to think the win total doesn’t goes up by one more.

Vandy was 0-8 in SEC play last season so while they blew out Hawaii 63-10 last week don’t take that as an indicator they are a new team.

With some players getting rest in the second half Kentucky rolls 42-17.
