Where have you been Big Blue defense, giving us a stifling display

The Kentucky defense played lights out early on during Kentucky’s six-game winning streak to open the season before injury after injury-depleted both the manpower and their mojo. But they have been getting both back week by week and Saturday they brought the house down on the Cards.

Cunningham, who is normally sleek and hard to take down, was left scrambling for his life play after play. He had to leave in the first half with a jammed finger and then for good in the fourth quarter after taking shot after shot.

It was D’Eryk Jackson who returned after an Achilles injury that had sidelined him all season to lead the team with 8 tackles and Carrington Valentine showing again why he is a tremendous tackler recording seven tackles.

Devonte Robinson, Yusuf Corker, Jand Jalen Geiger recorded three tackles each, and Jacquez Jones and Trevin Wallace each finished with two.

JJ Weaver even picked off a Cunningham pass as the hometown Louisville native continues to show what a talent the Wildcats stole out of Louisville Moore High School.

Kentucky’s defense hasn’t gotten a lot of takeaways this season, but when they do they seem to come just at the right time.
