Rivalry week and the Cats and Cards play for Governor’s Cup

The regular season comes to an end this week with Kentucky football traveling down I-64 to play Louisville for the Governor’s Cup. The game wasn’t played last year due to Covid and is set for a 7:30 PM  kickoff at Cardinal Stadium and will be on ESPN2.

Both teams have a lot riding on the win. First and foremost it’s bragging rights for the next year, but both teams need a win to leverage their bowl destination aspirations.

After losing 4 of 5 games in the middle of their schedule the Cardinals (6-5) too have righted their ship and won in consecutive weeks in blowouts of Syracuse and Duke.

Kentucky’s defense will need to play much better trying to slow down Louisville quarterback Malik Cunningham who tends to turn it over when trying to do too much.

Levis will need the offense to be just as efficient as it has been but turn it over four times like today and Louisville will put up the points quickly.
