Kentucky Basketball Game Tonight: Kentucky vs Miles College, Line, Predictions, Odds, TV Channel & Live Stream for Basketball Game Nov. 5
By Eric Thorne
Kentucky basketball plays its final second of two exhibition games tonight against Miles College as a tuneup for the season tipoff on Tuesday against Duke.
The wait is almost over Kentucky basketball fans the season officially tips off on Tuesday night in the Champions Classic against Duke in Madison Square Garden.
But hold your horse there is one thing coach John Calipari needs to see before prepping his team for the Blue Devil and that is to see them play once more in the final exhibition tuneup against Miles College.
That will be tonight at 7 pm. in Rupp Arena as the Big Blue welcomes the Golden Bears.
Defense will be emphasis for Kentucky basketball in final exhibition game
Kentucky handled Kentucky Wesleyan last week but as with any first exhibition, there were good and bad things. The offense looked pretty good and we saw the wealth of talent that UK has on the roster.
What Coach Cal and the rest of Big Blue Nation didn’t see was much defense.
Kentucky opened its exhibition season with a 95-72 win over Panthers with Keion Brooks Jr. and TyTy Washington Jr. each pumping in 18 points to lead the Cats, while Davion Mintz had 12 and Oscar Tshiebwe had 11.
This week they have been working on what they learned. What everyone knows is that dangerous duo in the backcourt of Washington and Sahvir Wheeler, either of whom can run the Wildcat offense.
Assistant coach Jai Lucas know the significance and advantage the Cats have.
"“We’re playing two point guards. It’s one of those things, whoever gets the ball is the point guard. We just see it as an advantage. Good college teams, most of them who have won championships here in the past couple of years play more than one point guard at a time. Two point guards give us an advantage. You have two guys who can create shots for others.”"
While we don’t expect the offense to be an issue with the number of weapons at every spot on the floor strong post play will be huge for Kentucky this season. Something they have had a lot of lately.
Miles College isn’t very big and Tschiebwe should have his way in the paint tonight along with Lance Ware and give Damion Collins some quality minutes.
The Golden Bears aren’t very big and experienced with a trio of 6-foot-8, players that include senior Joel Logan who totaled 53 points last year, junior Nathan Furgeson played a total of 24 minutes last year and one true freshman.
"“We have to be physical. (Kentucky Wesleyan) was good, but they weren’t really strong. If we play against somebody that’s strong, we must play physical.”"
Will we also see the return of Jacob Toppin and CJ Fredrick who have been out rehabbing? Toppin has been dealing with a shoulder issue and Fredrick had minor surgery over the summer.
Defense is what we are all looking to see because Calipari is going to demand that and UK will need that come Tuesday.

Kentucky vs Miles College Prediction Tonight
Calipari has said this team will run, run, and run more this season but tonight I would expect defense will be the priority creating a lot of fast-break opportunities. Any lack of defensive effort by a player tonight will guarantee them a quick yank, glare by Cal, and a seat on the bench.
Fluid play, good shot selection, and spreading the ball will be a premium as guys are vying for those precious playing minutes. Show us and coach what you got.
