Kentucky Basketball: Blue White Game tonight a refreshing return for hoops

Speed will kill and this team can quickly get into 5th gear

Run, run, run.

It won’t be full speed, pedal to the metal but this team should be able to get up and down the floor quickly creating shots and taking advantage of opportunities it creates.

Calipari has said this week at his media kickoff that will be important.

"“First three steps, we’re flying. Doesn’t mean you just play fast, it means you’re running fast, and then you have poise, and then you have pace to your game.”"

But it can’t be out of control and that has been what he has been teaching.

"“The biggest thing when you run fast to most of these players, their feet are moving real fast and their minds are moving just as fast,” Calipari said. “Well, you can’t play that way. You’ve got to run fast and have a slow look at what’s going on around you. So we’ve been working on it.”"

Whatever we see tonight should be entertaining, exciting, and if nothing else just a welcome site to see the excitement in Rupp both from the players and the fans.

The tipoff is at 7 pm and can be seen on the SEC Network and on the radio wherever you listen to your Kentucky games.
