Kentucky Football vs Georgia today: injury report, schedule, live Stream, TV channel and betting preview for Week 7 game
By Eric Thorne
Kentucky football takes center stage of the college football world on Saturday playing the No. 1 team in the land Georgia and looking to win No. 7 and bragging rites as the top team in the Southeastern Conference. Here are the odds, injuries, how to watch, and a prediction for the Wildcats and Dawgs.
This Wildcat team (6-0, 4-0) ranked No. 11 in both the AP and Coaches Poll are already bowl eligible but that isnât enough. They are hungry for more with everything to gain and nothing to lose.
Coach Mark Stoops has methodically built this team and program over the course of nine seasons taking them to where no other UK team has honestly gone in a very long time.
A win over Georgia (6-0, 4-0) would not only put them on course for an elusive SEC Championship spot but into the FBS Playoff talk as well.
If Georgia fans want to overlook us then so be it. But be careful what you wish for because this Kentucky team is coming for you.
Ask fellow SEC brethren teams in Florida, Missouri, LSU, and South Carolina who have felt the same way. âOh, itâs just Kentucky they are a basketball school anyway.â
Wrong answer.
Kentucky is no longer one of the doormats of the conference. Sorry, Vandy you are all alone by yourselves now.
Kentucky football vs Georgia Injury report
Kentucky had been avoiding injuries early on, but two weeks ago against Florida nose guard Marquan McCall and wide receiver Josh Ali each went down with injuries. Both missed the LSU game and Ali is expected to miss today. McCall will be out 4 to 5 games more than likely.
They also lost Octavius Oxendine for the season after he sustained a lower leg injury as well against LSU. He was playing so inspired and making huge plays for the Cats.
The Bulldogs have been battered and bruised all year and the list continues this week. Out are George Pickens, Tate Ratledge, Jalen Kimber, Rian Davis, and Tykee Smith. They also have about a dozen players probable or doubtful depending on if the need arises for Kirby Smart to play them.
Kentucky football vs Georgia Odds and Betting Pick Week 7
WynnBETâs Week 7 odds have Kentucky football a 21.0 point underdog on Saturday afternoon which has remained pretty steady all week but surprisingly high for two top 11 ranked teams. The matchup also has an over/under of 44.5 points The Moneyline has Kentucky plus +900, while the Dawgs are minus -1,600.
Georgia owns this series pretty handily 60-12-2 with the Wildcats last coming away with a win back in 2009 in Athens 34-27 pitting Rich Brooks against Mark Richt. Prior to that, it was 2006 and 10 years prior in 1996 are the previous two. The two have played every year since 1956.
This is the fourth time in school history a ranked UK team has squared off with the AP Poll top-ranked team:  Jan. 1, 1951 â No. 7 UK vs. No. 1 Oklahoma; Nov. 24, 1951 â No. 9 UK vs. No. 1 Tennessee; and Oct. 13, 2007 â No. 17 UK vs. No. 1 LSU.
I can throw all the numbers reflecting the little success Kentucky has had in games against Georgia but you quickly get the point.
But could this be Kentuckyâs year if all the stars align?
Iâll stick with my prediction and say that Georgia is still a bit better, BUT donât sleep on Big Blue pulling a stunner. Georgia 35, Kentucky 17.
