The Kentucky football team has done as expected defeat four inferior opponents wanting a defining matchup with Florida here in week 5. Here we sit on the cusp of teeing it up for the Wildcats its time to as they say “put up or shut up.”

No respect. Overlooked. Under ranked are all tossed around by Big Blue Nation. Well, it’s time to thwart the neigh sayers or accept the reality.

RESPECT is what Kentucky football is looking for

Kentucky (4-0, 2-0) has high hopes coming into 2021 and the possibility of getting double-digit wins and had their sites set on claiming second place in the Southeastern Conference East.

Florida (3-1, 1-1) has nothing to prove always challenging Georgia for the eastern crown.

Kentucky boasts a powerful running game in Christopher Rodriguez, Jr. who leads the SEC in rushing and running mate Kavosiey Smoke who went over the 1,000-yard rushing mark last week once free has the speed to burn.

Will Levis has a rocket of an arm and when he connects with Mr. Everything Wan’Dale Robinson lightning can happen for big chunk yardage. If in sync these two can torch defensive secondaries.

Florida put up numbers through the air with the Kyles last season, Trask and Pitts, but both gone so the Gator attack is on the ground this year with two quarterbacks leading the way in Emory Jones (394 yards) and Anthony Richardson (275). Running back Malik Davis has 266.

Jones and Richarson are dangerous duel threats.

Kentucky football vs Florida Injury report

Kentucky continues to avoid major injuries which is a good sign for the Cats.

As for Florida, they are getting key players back from injury including Richardson and star corner Kaiir Elam.

Kentucky football vs Florida Odds and Betting Pick Week 5

WynnBET’s Week 5 odds have Kentucky football a 7.5 point underdog on Saturday night which has dropped a point from earlier in the week’s odds.  The matchup also has an over/under of 56 points  The Moneyline has 110 for each.

So how has Kentucky fared over the years when taking on ranked teams?

• Kentucky has played 257 ranked teams in the Associated Press Poll in its history. The Cats are 46-206-5 in those games.
• Since 2015, the Cats are 7-10 against ranked teams. The wins were over No. 23 NC State (2020), No. 18 Tennessee (2020), No. 12 Penn State, No. 14 Mississippi State and No. 25 Florida (2018), No. 11 Louisville (2016), and No. 25 Missouri (2015). UK is 4-34 vs. ranked Florida teams.
• UK’s last win over a ranked Florida team came in 2018 in Gainesville when the Cats won 27-16 over No. 25 Florida.
• UK’s last win over a ranked SEC team was at No. 18 Tennessee, 34-7, on Oct. 17, 2020, in Knoxville.
• The Cats’ last win over a top-10 ranked team was vs. No. 10 South Carolina in 2010 in Lexington (31-28).

All the predictors have Florida coming out as the winner and if they do I would say it will be by 7 points. This is my head pick but even if the Cats lose I think they will cover.

But I’ll bleed blue here with my heart and want a rush the field, crazy ESPN SportsCenter moment with Kentucky winning on a field goal by Matt Ruffalo 31-28.

There are lots of good betting options in this game and WynnBet has you covered.
