Stoops makes history as do the Wildcats with victory

The end result was a win while not pretty Kentucky has made it through a third of the 2021 season without a loss and players to injuries.

Here I like to end it with some odds and ends that are positive.

Did you know that Kentucky is now 2-0 in the SEC for only the second time since 1975?

We can thank Cory Price for digging up the history again finding that between 1951 and 2006, UKFootball started a season 4-0 or better just 3 times (1983, 1984, 2002). Since 2007, Kentucky has started a season 4-0 or better 4 times now (2007, 2008, 2018, 2021).

With the win, Kentucky has moved above .500 all-time, for the first time since 2012, with an all-time mark of 633-632-44. Since 2016, UK is 18-7 in games decided by seven points or less and has won its last five in a row in this category, including the last three games this season.

Stoops made history as well garnering his Southeastern Conference win, breaking the school record of 25 by Fran Curci.  He is now 7-2 vs. South Carolina.

However, there is little time to relish the win as game-planning begins in earnest drawing up a plan to beat those pesky Gators.

Game time has been set for 6 pm EST on ESPN next Saturday night at Kroger Field.
