Burning down the house with some string music

There was little Kentucky could do wrong in that first half as 17 of 28 shots hit for string music as Joe Dean used to say. That included 6 of 9 threes finding their mark as well. Last time against the Vols a mere 4 of 17 in the entire game hit the bullseye.

Kentucky has now made 40 3-pointers in their last four games, their most in a four-game span since February 9-20, 2016  where they connected on 42.

Mintz equaled the most made treys by a Kentucky player in the first half against Tennessee in Thompson-Boling Arena (5) since Jodie Meeks did the same on January 13, 2009.

He was asked after the game just how hot was he?

"“Yeah, I was burning up at the beginning. Like you said, just me being me. And that’s extremely helpful to do that at the beginning of the game, kind of take the air out of the other team. So that was big.”"

He finished with 15 points and grabbed four rebounds.

Kentucky was also lights out at the foul line making 17 of 20 for the game after netting 24 of 25 against Vanderbilt on Wednesday.

Jackson finished the game with 16 points on 8 of 9 from the foul line to go with seven rebounds and two blocks. Olivier Sarr chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds
