Kentucky Defense should get the game ball.

The Kentucky defense came ready to play today and in a big way. Kentucky was able to stop a den of Wolfpack running backs holding N.C. State to only 50 yards on the ground, and only 318 yards of total offense.

Coming into this season there were many question marks on who would step up after many departures from last season, and Kentucky fans weren’t disappointed today.

The good, strong defense has been a staple in The Stoops Era, and it was front and center today. Kentucky defenders Jamin Davis, Yusuf Corker, and Brandin Echols all came down with errant Hoffman passes which puts UK into a tie for first in the SEC with 16 interceptions

Just when it seemed that the Wolfpack had swung the momentum in their favor, the Kentucky defense was there to stymie each threat.

If it wasn’t for the outstanding defensive performance, Kentucky would have no doubt traveled back to Lexington empty-handed and with a loss.
