With both Ashton Hagans and E.J. Montgomery not having banner games, Kentucky Basketball needed to make up for their usual production.

Tyrese Maxey gave his usual stellar performance, scoring 15 points and leading the Cats with 4 assists. Maxey contributed 5 boards and 2 steals, as well.

As mentioned, Juzang had a career afternoon.

That only leaves Keion Brooks, who gave Kentucky Basketball an incredible effort in his 26 minutes. Brooks led the Cats with 9 rebounds and finished this game on the floor with the closing unit.

Brooks’ stellar individual defense helped to contribute to the front court’s lockdown of Tennessee forwards. Volunteer frontcourt players shot a combined 4-14 on the afternoon, including missing their only three-point attempt.

Kentucky Basketball will have to find a way to get Hagans out of his funk (2-8, 10 points, 3 assists, 5 turnovers), but the Cats have to feel good about vanquishing the Volunteer string of home victories.

Ding, dong, the streak is dead!

Kentucky Basketball will stay in the state of Tennessee to battle Vanderbilt (9-13, 1-8 in the SEC) in Nashville on Tuesday at 7 PM.
