Maxey and Quickley showed the hearts of champions trying to will Kentucky Basketball to victory.

Kentucky Basketball’s entire offensive output seemed to rest on the shoulders of the dynamic duo that was Tyrese Maxey and Immanuel Quickley.

Maxey had 22 points, shooting 2-5 from three and going 10-12 from the free-throw line.

Quickley led the Cats with a career-high 23 points, going 2-4 from behind the arc and 9-10 from the charity stripe.

Both players were incredible at finding offense for themselves when the Cats got bogged down. During several second-half stretches, it was this duo that kept Kentucky Basketball afloat in this game.

The issue, beyond the foul trouble, was the lack of the guards’ ability to facilitate for others at the clip that Hagans does. Maxey and Quickley combined for 4 assists.

Kentucky Basketball drops to 16-5 with their second conference loss (6-2). Auburn is now 19-2 and has an identical SEC record to the Cats (6-2). Kentucky returns to Rupp Arena on Tuesday to play Mississippi State at 9 PM.
