#3- Abbey Cheek

Abbey Cheek stepped into University of Kentucky folklore like the mighty Casey into the batter’s box, only Abbey never struck out!

In 2019, Cheek, Kentucky’s star softball player, clocked in 20 home runs and 53 R.B.I. while batting a remarkable .428. She put up numbers worthy of winning SEC Conference Player of the Year. And, in case you were wondering, Cheek was also a wizard in the field, being named to the SEC All-Defensive Team for her handling of the hot corner that is third base.

The Softball Cats finished the season with a 36-24 record, earning the right to host an NCAA Softball Regional in 2019. The Cats advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals in 2019.
