CONs

We could absolutely lose this game. In fact, given by how freaking incredible Chris Beard is at coaching college basketball, I’ll bet he has his team whipped into top-25 shape by the time this game rolls around. And guess what: (they’ll probably be the favorite). Tech’s defense could violently expose our flaws. Every reason I just mentioned regarding why the game will be such an awesome event is exactly why it should horrify Kentucky fans.

Texas Tech is a legitimate top-flight program at this point. No gimmicks. No one-season crazy tournament run. This is systematic. For two years now, Tech stood in the national conversation by the end of the season–and earned a three-seed in the NCAA Tournament twice in a row. The results? An Elite Eight loss to eventual champion Villanova in 2018 and an overtime defeat against Virginia in the National Championship.

Guys, over the past two seasons, Texas Tech was the superior basketball program, without argument. If year three of this current run yields yet as strong or stronger a foe than the past, then forget it. We’d need a herculean Knox-esque outing to best the Red Raiders.

Overall, I cannot wait for the matchup. It’ll be another electrifying and incredible intriguing college hoops event that features the greatest program in the history of the sport. Kentucky Basketball is built for these moments.
