The Kentucky basketball team made the Final Five for 5-star guard Bryan Antoine. Can John Calipari land yet another top flight recruit?

The Kentucky basketball program is no stranger to collecting top level talent. But if John Calipari and the Wildcats are able to snag 5-star shooting guard Bryan Antoine, we’re talking about yet another loaded recruiting class.

Antoine posted to social media yesterday with a list of the five schools remaining on his list. He listed the Cats along with Duke, Florida, Villanova and Kansas. Antoine is a 6’5″ shooting guard from New Jersey. He’s ranked No.7 nationally by 247 Sports. As we’ve seen so far on the recruiting trail this summer, Cal is all in on stocking his team with guards.

Earlier this week, Tyrese Maxey, a 5-star point guard from South Garland High School in Texas, committed to Coach Cal for the 2019 Kentucky basketball team. Maxey chose the Cats over Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Texas.

Calipari also locked up another guard in 5-star floor general Ashton Hagans. While Hagans is currently slated to come to Lexington in 2019. But all signs point to him reclassifying to next year’s class. Hagans would join Quade Green, Immanuel Quickley and Tyler Herro in the Wildcats’ backcourt.

The Cats are also in the hunt for James Wiseman, the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation. Wiseman is said to be deciding between Kentucky and Memphis. With the Tigers hiring Penny Hardaway, Wiseman’s former AAU coach, to become the new head man in Memphis, Cal’s task became a bit more difficult.

Currently, the Duke Blue Devils are the favorite to land Antoine’s services in 2019. However, with the talent-laden class that John Calipari is putting together, don’t be surprised if Cal is able to pull a rabbit out of his hat and sway Antoine to Lexington next season.
