A Kentucky basketball fan’s guide to the NBA Playoffs

Oklahoma City Thunder
Believe or not, the Oklahoma City Thunder have two former Wildcats on their roster. Most Kentucky basketball fans know about Patrick Patterson, but few know that Dakari Johnson is also on the Thunder’s roster.
Patterson signed as a free agent in the off-season and was thought to be solid addition to Russell Westbrook and company. Patterson, unfortunately, has been well below-average this season. While Patterson played in all 82 games, he’s averaging less than 4 points per game. The 15.5 minutes per game is the lowest for Patterson in his entire NBA career.
Johnson is not a vital part of the Thunder’s roster. He’s played in only 31 games this season, but does have 6 starts. Johnson’s spent a good piece of the season in the G-League, but his giant frame could be of value against Rudy Gobert.
The Thunder draw a first-round matchup with the Utah Jazz. OKC hosts the Jazz in Game 1 on Sunday evening.
