3. Consistency

PJ Washington, like the majority of the Wildcats this past season, did not play consistently game in and game out. PJ hit a snag midway through SEC-play and John Calipari decided to bench him in favor of Wenyen Gabriel.

That message was received loud and clear by Washington. After the benching, PJ averaged 12.8 points per game, scoring in double-figures in 11 of those 12 games. However, in the previous 5 games, Washington scored only 21 points total.

Early in the season, PJ would have a great game (17 points, 10 rebounds vs Vermont) and follow it up with a poor performance (2 points, 2 rebounds vs Kansas). He would play excellent in one game (17 points, 5 rebounds vs Illinois-Chicago) and lay an egg in the following game (3 points, 5 fouls vs Harvard).

PJ has the ability to average a double-double. Though a bit undersized, he gets great position underneath in order to snag offensive and defensive rebounds. Washington needs to build on his end-of-year performances, and demonstrate the ability to play consistently game in and game out.
