KEVIN KNOX. B +. . SF. Freshman

Kevin Knox was the leading scorer for this year’s Kentucky basketball team. The freshman from Tampa, Florida averaged 15.6 points per game for the Wildcats. Knox scored in double figures in 30 of the Cats’ 37 games this season.

Knox’s 34.1% three-point percentage was a bit underwhelming. Some games, like his 19 point outing against Mississippi State, he couldn’t miss. Other games, such as his 6 point performance against Tennessee, Knox couldn’t put the ball in the ocean. He was 1-of-9 in that game and 0-of-5 from downtown.

Knox’s most memorable game of 2017-18 season was his 34-point rampage in Kentucky’s 17-point comeback versus West Virginia. Knox made a season-high 5 three-pointers in that game, and the Cats overcame a 15-point deficit at halftime for, perhaps, their most impressive victory of the season.

Knox was a solid performer for UK all season. His offense really seemed to blossom as the season went along. His defense and effort could be questioned at times, but when the Cats needed a basket, he was one of the players Cal looked to for a clutch bucket.
