4. The effort was there

The Cats played with good effort and energy throughout the game. Earlier in the season, BBN observed instances of UK players seemingly uninterested and uninvested in games. This was not the case against Kansas St.

The Kentucky basketball players attacked the offensive and defensive glass for rebounds. Kentucky pursued loose balls, unfortunately being called for fouls in the process. They came back from deficits time and time again. This group never quit and they never gave up.

Kansas St. made shots they usually don’t make. SGA turned the ball over in a couple costly situations. Quade took an ill-advised shot late in the game. PJ was ice-cold from the FT-line. It wasn’t a lack of effort by the Cats tonight. It was, well, March Madness.

These games are unpredictable, really. Sometimes teams like Kansas St. play above their overall skill level. And sometimes teams like UK play below theirs. But the effort was there, BBN should appreciate this.
