Kentucky basketball: UK not the only SEC team that will make a deep run
By Drew Koch
Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama plays Virginia Tech in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament. That will be a tough game for the Crimson Tide. Buzz Williams’ group loves to run up and down the court and gave the Kentucky basketball team a for their money back in January. That being said, Alabama has the horses to run with the Hokies.
Collin Sexton will be a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. This kid’s game is on another level. Any team that drafts Oklahoma’s Trae Young ahead of Sexton is making a BIG mistake. Sexton is the real deal, and Alabama will go as far as the young point guard can take them.

We all know that the NCAA Tournament centers around good guard play. The games become more important, teams tend to slow the pace and play a more halfcourt-oriented game. That style of play sets up well for Avery Johnson’s bunch.
If the Tide defeat Va Tech in Round 1, they’ll likely draw 1-seed Villanova. Defeating the Wildcats will take a Herculean-effort by Alabama, but Collin Sexton is that good. I don’t give the Tide as good a chance as other SEC teams to make a run, but a player like Sexton can make special things happen in March.
