The Kentucky basketball team was run off the floor in their final regular season game. The Wildcats lost to the Florida Gators 67-80.

Whoof, Kentucky basketball’s road game was a tough loss at the hands of Florida on senior day in Gainesville. There were certainly instances of Kentucky’s players reverting back to bad habits. There were also instances of Florida just simply not missing shots and making several difficult three-pointers. Big Blue Nation hopes that this game is not an indication of where the Cats are moving as a team. Here are my 5 “Rushed Reactions” from Kentucky’s 80-67 loss at Florida on Saturday.

1. Quade Green continues to impress

Quade Green had another really solid game for the Kentucky basketball team today. Green is playing like a determined leader and scorer right now for the Cats. Kevin Knox and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have most often been the dynamic scorers for UK this season. But during these last 5 games, Green has developed into a consistent and reliable shooter.

Green is shooting really well from three-point land, but he’s also smooth in the paint and mid-range. It’s very unfortunate that when Kentucky cut the lead to single digits late, Quade didn’t get more looks. Green had hit several three-point shots already, but Calipari didn’t use him late in the game.

With UK cutting Florida’s lead to 9, if Green could have cut it to 6 or even 7 with one shot, the Cats might go on to win the game. It seems like Calipari really wants to keep the ball in Knox and SGA’s hands, but Green should be in consideration as well.
