The Kentucky basketball team showed off their offensive ability tonight in a 96-78 victory over Ole Miss. UK was able to extend its win streak in the SEC to 4 consecutive games with one left to play. UK continues to build momentum towards the postseason, and here are my 5 ‘Rushed Reactions’ from tonight’s game:

1. Quade + SGA = Victory

John Calipari has recently started playing Quade Green and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander together more often. This is GREAT news for Big Blue Nation and the Kentucky basketball team. For most of the season, SGA has been the most consistent scorer for the Cats.

In the last few games, BBN has seen Quade blossom into a more reliable and proven scorer. Calipari has definitely taken notice, and he has started playing the two “point guards” together more and more often. SGA will pretty much be the same solid, reliable player each and every night. But when the Cats get 12-plus points from Quade and 2 three-point shots, the Cats have a really good chance at victory.

Coach Calipari has really struck gold here, so to speak, with playing SGA and Quade together. As the Kentucky basketball team continues to get 12-plus points from each of their point guards, they become a very difficult team to beat.
