3. Knocking down the three-point shot

To say the Kentucky basketball team has not shot the three well this season would be an understatement. But last week against Missouri, UK knocked down 10-16 (62.5%) from downtown. Hamidou Diallo led the way with 9 points from distance and was a perfect 3-of-3 from deep.

Maybe more  impressive than the Cats three-point percentage in Saturday’s game was their efficiency. Kentucky only took 16 three-point attempts. That’s the number of attempts John Calipari has been advocating his team to take all season. If the Wildcats continue to shoot between 15-20 three-pointers per game, they won’t shoot themselves out of any game.

The Cats need to keep shooting, but don’t overshoot. If Kentucky can make 5-8 three pointers on 15-20 shots per game, they’ll be just fine. Let’s see if the Wildcats can keep up the good shooting on Wednesday night.
