The Ole Miss Rebels come to Lexington on Wednesday. Can the Kentucky basketball team increase their winning streak to 4 games against a struggling Mississippi squad?

Well, there’s no seniors on this year’s Kentucky basketball team, but this will be the team’s final game at Rupp Arena this season. The Kentucky Wildcats play host to the visiting Mississippi Rebels on Wednesday night in Lexington. Kentucky is looking is looking to extend their winning streak to 4 games.

The Wildcats are coming off a dominant win over Missouri on Saturday night. The Cats defeated the Tigers 87-66. Kentucky was led by Kevin Knox who had 21 points and was 8-for-8 from the free throw line. Jarred Vanderbilt chipped in with a double-double and Hamidou Diallo finally had a solid game. Diallo knocked down 3 triples and finished with 11 points.

Kentucky shot 54% from the field and 62% from downtown in their victory over the Tigers last weekend. If Kentucky is able to enjoy that kind of production going forward, there are very few teams that will be able to contend with the Wildcats.

The Rebels are having a very down year. Ole Miss has lost 8 of their last 9 games and their head coach, Andy Kennedy, resigned last week. Assistant coach Tony Madlock took over for Kennedy and is 1-1 through his first 2 games as the head coach.

The Rebels are led by senior guard Deandre Burnett. The former Miami Hurricane leads Mississippi in scoring with 14.2 points per game. Ole Miss does one thing very well; rebound. The Rebs lead the SEC in total rebounds (612) and offensive rebounds (209).

Kentucky has been dominant on the boards lately. Will it continue against Ole Miss? Will Hamidou Diallo follow up Saturday’s resurgent performance with another solid outing? Check out the game preview and 3 keys to victory for the Kentucky basketball team.
