Will Sacha Killeya-Jones leave for another school?

This prediction, sure to go wrong, has nothing at all to do with Sacha Killeya-Jones’ likelihood of going to the NBA. No, this is about Killeya-Jones staying the course at UK, or leaving the Kentucky basketball program for another opportunity.

We’ve seen it before BBN. Kyle Wiltjer and Charles Matthews both left the Kentucky basketball program and joined another collegiate basketball program. Wiltjer left for Gonzaga and Matthews went to Michigan. I think SKJ could follow a similat path out of Lexington.

It’s been obvious all season, that with Kentucky’s current makeup, they’re going to play more of a “small ball” lineup. A lineup of Knox, Washington, Vanderbilt, Gabriel and either Green or Gilgeous-Alexander has been the go-to lineup for John Calipari of late. It’s been very successful, but it kind of leaves Killeya-Jones out in the cold.

I’m sure Sacha and Coach Cal will talk at season’s end. For all intents and purposes, right now, Cal is going to need a big body like SKJ’s because he has no one over 6’7″ slated to join the Cats next season. I hope during the off-season Killey-Jones and Coach Cal can come to an understanding of what Sacha’s role on this team will be going forward. I just don’t know that the 13 minutes per game that Killeya-Jones is currently playing is what he was expecting when he came to UK.

Chances he stays at Kentucky – 50%
