Since the FBI investigations into corruption in college basketball were made known last year, Kentucky basketball fans have been wondering if their program was involved. It looks like UK may be implicated, after a report from Yahoo Sports sited several college programs and players.

Big Blue Nation’s biggest fears may be realized, as some of their own are part of the FBI investigation. The documents obtained by Yahoo Sports site current Kentucky basketball stand out Kevin Knox, as well as past players Nerlens Noel and Bam Adebayo.

Knox is listed a player who had dinner with an ASM Sports agent. In addition to Knox, Alabama star Collin Sexton and Duke freshman sensation Wendell Carter are current players listed in the document. Yahoo Sports provided a quote from a lawyer named Stu Brown who has a history of representing schools in NCAA compliance cases.

"“There’s nothing wrong with meeting with an agent, but then it becomes a question of who pays for the meal.”"

Adebayo is listed on the agent’s balance sheet as well. According to Yahoo Sports, Adebayo received $36,500. The documents obtained later read that that money was a “bad loan”. That could be a reference to the fact that Adebayo did not sign with ASM. Nerlens Noel was also listed as receiving a loan. Noel’s amount was considerably less than Adebayo’s, at less than $5,000.

Players from several different programs, including Duke, North Carolina, Michigan State and Kansas are all listed in the report. This is a bad look for college basketball. This is especially true with the sport’s signature time of year, March Madness, right around the corner. This scandal has the potential to ruin, what could be, an incredible NCAA Tournament.
