Coach Mark Stoops and the UK football program have already locked up 22 recruits going into the 2018 season. Can they snag a few more on National Signing Day?

Coach Mark Stoops has 22 commits already for his 2018 UK football recruiting class. Can the Wildcats pick up a few more commitments on National Signing Day to round out the 2018 class? There are two big names still on the board for the Wildcats. Mark Stoops will be doing back flips, figuratively speaking, if the Cats get those signatures on Wednesday.

National Signing Day has lost some of its luster, with the early-signing period in which the Cats signed 20 recruits for the 2018 season. National Signing Day is now an opportunity to wrap up some of those loose ends that may still be hanging out there.

Wide receiver LiAllen Daily and offensive lineman Nick Lewis, both 3-star recruits according to 247Sports, commited to the UK football program last month. The Cats have two more players on their radar. Big Blue Nation will be waiting with baited-breath to hear if they sign their letters of intent today.

Kavosiey Smoke, a 3-star athlete likely to play running back, is thought to be a slam dunk for the Wildcats. Smoke would be a phenomenal addition to the Wildcats’ backfield with Benny Snell Jr., in all likelihood, headed to the NFL after next season. Smoke would join Christopher Rodriguez, another 3-star running back, as the future of the Wildcats’ backfield.

The UK football program is also hoping to land 4-star linebacker Christopher Oats. Oats would be a huge signing for Mark Stoops, as Courtney Love has graduated and Josh Allen and Jordan Jones are entering their senior seasons.

The UK football program has a Top 40 recruiting class according to 247Sports.com. If the Cats land Smoke and Oats, you may see them move up the rankings. That of course is  dependant on what the teams ahead them do.
