1. Will PJ Washington continue to be the leader this team needs?

Something clicked for PJ Washington several games back. Over the past 4 games, Washington averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks. Those numbers are impressive and could be even better had he not been in foul trouble against Georgia or left Saturday’s game against Tennessee due to injury. To put it in perspective, over the last 4 games, Washington is averaging 4 more points per game.

Washington’s physical change has been noted, losing 15 pounds in 17 days, but the mental change has been more impressive. Washington appears more confident and to a certain extent cocky. That bravado that PJ has is infectious and will be needed as the season goes along. This Kentucky basketball team is void of senior leadership, but the way Washington has been playing may have the team looking to him for direction and inspiration.
