3. Turnovers

There is a common theme in all three of Northwestern’s losses. The great equalizer, turnovers. Northwestern quarterback Clayton Thorson threw two picks in each of the Northwestern defeats. If Kentucky hopes to have any chance, they must put pressure on Thorson, make him uncomfortable and force some errant throws. Johnson only 4 interceptions on the season, 2 of which came in the loss to Mississippi State. The team that wins the turnover battle will have a huge edge on the scoreboard when the final horn sounds in the Music City Bowl.
