2. Stephen Johnson’s mobility

Kentucky quarterback Stephen Johnson took over for Drew Barker last season after Barker suffered an injury in the third game. Johnson is slight of frame, doesn’t have a lot of arm strength and isn’t the best decision maker. With all that said, he has been the unquestioned leader of the Kentucky football team and his mobility will play a big role in Friday’s Music City Bowl. Johnson is UK’s second leading rusher. He has 358 yards on the ground and has scored 3 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Northwestern is loaded with defensive talent who’s job it is to rush the passer. Joe Graziano, Sam Miller and Nate Hall all have over 5 sacks on the season. Johnson will be on high alert and his ability to scramble outside of the pocket will be on full display. Johnson doesn’t necessarily need a great statistical game on the ground, but he must be able to create plays with his legs for the Cats to have a shot to win the Music Ciity Bowl.
