UK Football vs Northwestern: Examine the Enemy
By Drew Koch
Linebackers: Paddy Fisher & Nate Hall
Northwestern’s offense is middle-of-the-road, but their defense is stellar. The Wildcats are ranked 18th in scoring defense, allowing only 19.8 points per game. The defense is led by their linebackers. Freshman Paddy Fisher leads the team in total tackles with 108, including 8 tackles for loss and 4 forced fumbles. Fellow linebacker Nate Hall has 17 tackles for loss on the season and 5 sacks.
Hall’s 17 tackles for loss were second in the Big Ten to only Michigan’s Chase Winovich. Hall also had a big interception in the Wildcats overtime victory over Michigan State that sealed the win versus the Spartans. In just his first year, Fisher was named Defensive Freshman of the Year by the Big Ten Network.
