UK Football vs Northwestern: Examine the Enemy
By Drew Koch
Running Back: Justin Jackson
Justin Jackson is the straw that stirs the drink for the Northwestern offense. He struggled early this season against superior opponents, Wisconsin and Penn State. Over the last seven games, all wins for the Wildcats, Jackson has 815 yards at 4.6 yards per rush and 5 touchdowns. Jackson toted the rock 25 times or more, in 6 of the 9 Northwestern wins this season.
Look for Northwestern to attempt to establish the run early. Jackson will be the focal point of the Northwestern offense, so Kentucky is likely to stack the box on defense. Northwestern does not have explosive receivers who get a lot of separation in the passing game, which will allow UK to put an emphasis on stopping the run.
