UK Football vs Northwestern: Examine the Enemy

As reported by the Chicago Tribune, Northwestern quarterback Clayton Thorson revealed that he would return to play for the Wildcats next season. Thorson is ranked as the 7th best quarterback prospect in the 2018 NFL Draft by WalterFootball.com. He was expected to be a late-second or early-third round pick if he had decided to put his name in the draft after the season.
While Thorson’s pro prospects look very good, his numbers on the season do not jump off the page. He has 2,809 passing yards on the year with 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. By comparison, UK’s Stephen Johnson has the same completion percentage (61%), more yards per attempt (7.3) and a better touchdown to interception ratio.
